This was always going to be a difficult night for Alltraders. With Kevin Burton still injured, and now Tim Leader suffering from a heavy cold, they needed to draw on all their strength in depth to face this young fit B&CE team. Unfortunately for Alltraders, they have none. The backup player that was going to play in Tim's place failed to show, and Paul Burton admitted that he hadn't done any exercise since he damaged his back a fortnight ago.
So, the injury ravaged, re-formed Alltraders team took their place on pitch four to face the lions. It didn't take long for the opposition to cut through the seemingly ever-present hole in the Alltraders defence as the attacker slammed home number one past a Warren Fiveash that had no real cover to talk of for the whole game.
Things took a bit of an upward turn after two minutes when Jamie Fiveash tried to skip past Tim Leader on the right wing. Sadly he seemed to twist his knee and had to be substituted (I didn't touch him, honest). The bad news was that the replacement was equally skillful, if not better, and took no time at all to settle into the game and cause more problems for the Alltraders defence.
This seemed to be the pattern for the whole game. By half time B & CE had taken a three - nil lead and were in complete control.
The second half saw Alltraders desperately trying to get something from the game. This eventually resulted in a Paul Burton strike actually finding the target and beating the 'keeper to clutch a consolation goal.
However, within seconds the three goal lead was restored as Alltraders folded under the pressure. Two more goals followed before the referee finally terminated proceeding bringing to an end a miserable night for Alltraders.
With still no news on Kevin Burton's injury, and the added lack of commitment from the rest of the Altraders team, this could very well be their last season together.
